MALI
Location
Absolute location-20 degrees north latitdue and 0 degrees longitude Relative location-West of Niger,East of Mauritania,North of Ivory Coast,South of Algeria,Northern and Western Hemispheres,Africa.
Place- Physical Characteristics-
Mali is a landlocked country in Western Africa.
Physical Geography- Sahara desert, the Niger river,Sahel,a golden mines, and forms of bushes and low trees.
Climate- Nothern is desert,hot and dry,little rain in the north,has 3 seasons of weather-rainy,hot,and average types of weather. Climate usaually subtropical to arid.
Sahara covers the northern part of Mali.Grassland mostly cover the rest of the country.
The average temperature is 110 degrees.
Plains and plateaus are in some parts of Mali
Place- Human Characteristics
20 major ethnic groups,most major group is Islam or Muslim.Other religions include Sunni or Sufi,Christian,Roman Catholic,and Protestant.
How humans adapt to the environment- They dress in loose clothes because its hot there and they build houses to match the environment.If it is hot, they will try to make there house cool or cold.
How humans change the environment-The cars they have in urban areas cause pollution and when they build dams it threteneds the lives of fish in the Niger river.
What are some enviromental problems due to people changing the enviroment-One problem is deforestation when they cut down the trees for land and when the farmers abandon farmland it causes droughts in some places
